General Position Description

The Director of International Programs is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of international programs in the College. S/he is accountable for the administrative, financial, and programmatic effectiveness of the College’s international activities. Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership for effective international activities of the College, both in exploring new opportunities and in maintaining on-going programs;
  • Supports and leads the College in developing and maintaining effective relationships with partners;
  • Establishes, maintains, and evaluates international programs in order to meet standards and regulations of nursing education at home and abroad;
  • Prepares and trains students and faculty ahead of international visits;
  • Evaluates student performance during and after international activities and provides mentorship and feedback;
  • Leads student, faculty and curricular initiatives to build international programs;
  • Orients new faculty to goals and aims of international programs;
  • Provides guidance, counseling, and support as needed for students and faculty during an international activity;
  • Manages the processes internal to UNMC for international exchanges and other international activities;
  • Enhances cultural and professional learning that results from student and faculty activities abroad.
