===General Position Description===
<p style="margin-bottom:15px; max-width:70em !important;">The Clinical Workforce Development Officer (CWDO) focuses on developing a diverse pipeline of healthcare professionals for Nebraska Medicine. In collaboration with the Associate Dean for Academic Programs, the Assistant Deans, and the Student Services team, the CWDO assesses workforce challenges across the state and connects those with similar challenges. The CWDO develops and maintains relationships with schools and community organizations to inform of healthcare roles and assists with coordinating activities related to healthcare. The CWDO participates in the tripartite faculty roles of teaching, research and service/practice.</p>

===Organizational Relationships===
<p style="margin-bottom:15px; max-width:70em !important;">The CWDO collaborates with the Dean, the College’s other leaders, faculty, and inter-professional colleagues in accomplishing the College’s goals related to workforce development. The CWDO reports to the Dean and serves at the Dean’s request. The CWDO works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Programs, the Assistant Deans, and the Student Services team.</p>

===Responsibilities of the Position===
<ul style="margin-bottom:15px;max-width:67em !important;">
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">In partnership with Human Resources senior leadership, creates and executes a strategy to grow and develop a new clinical workforce for Nebraska Medicine. </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Expands to partner with local health systems and eventually develop a statewide program. </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Supports development of talent pipeline and career pathway programs, focusing on those clinical positions most needed by Nebraska Medicine and the state (hard to fill, mission critical positions).</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Expands partnerships with area schools, community programs and local agencies. Develop and deliver educational content that prepares individuals for entry into the clinical workforce.</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Liaison to Clarkson College, the UNMC College of Nursing and other partners, advising on educational programs and clinical programming, working to increase the volume of students who apply to, and are hired by, Nebraska Medicine. </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Engages in advocacy efforts with state senators and other officials to support clinical workforce development programs. </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Serves as spokesperson for clinical professions as a career</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Thoughtful and analytical while also being outgoing, engaging and motivating while using data to clearly communicate outcomes and/or need for change.</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Collaborative, transparent, approachable and passionate about the goal at hand. </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Results-oriented, with the ability to not only set goals but also design, implement and monitor plans for improvement.</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Demonstrates political and organizational savvy.</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Understands when to see counsel and to involve others. </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Outstanding interpersonal / relationship skills, with the drive and initiative required to implement change at the strategic and operational levels. </li>

===Appointment Requirements===
<ul style="margin-bottom:15px;max-width:67em !important;">
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Bachelor's degree in nursing required and graduate degree in nursing preferred;</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Expertise in nursing and health administration;</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">A record of scholarly activity; </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Demonstrated leadership skills, including a participatory leadership style, ability to think creatively and take appropriate risks, and a penchant for innovation; </li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Faculty appointment qualification commensurate with the volunteer faculty policy or at the discretion of the Dean; and,</li>
     <li style="margin-left:3em;">Registered to practice nursing in Nebraska</li>
