Purpose
Provides the mechanism for formal student appeal of any disciplinary action brought against the student or resolves a grievance submitted by the student.
Scope
Applies to undergraduate and professional graduate students. PhD students will utilize the mechanism provided by Graduate Studies.
Functions
- Serve in accordance to UNMC and CON rules, regulations and policies.
- Review formal disciplinary appeals and formal grievances for further investigation and hearings.
- Create hearing committees in response to student disciplinary appeals and grievances.
- Hear the disciplinary appeal or grievance to determine appropriate action and outcomes.
- Notify appropriate parties regarding hearing committee outcomes.
- Responsible for recording outcomes in the student success platform.
- Annually review disciplinary appeals and grievances policies and procedures.
- Provide annual grievance report to appropriate committees and Associate Dean for Academic Programs (ADAP).
Membership
