Policy

Emeritus faculty members are eligible to access and use their allocated professional development funds for a one-year period after the official retirement date. These funds must be used for professional development purposes. Unused funds will revert to the division level after one year.

Allowable Expenditures

Fund Utilization

  1. Request Submission. Emeritus faculty members wishing to access their professional development funds must submit a request to the Assistant Dean of Finance and Operations (ADFO) via email, detailing the professional development activity, item, or service they wish to purchase.
  2. Approval Process. The ADFO reviews the request for compliance with University and State regulations and ensures that the expense qualifies under allowable expenditures.
  3. Procurement Process. Upon approval, the requested items or services are purchased under the direction of the ADFO using the College procurement card. Receipts and purchase documentation are retained for record-keeping.
  4. Timeframe for Fund Usage. The professional development funds must be used within one year of the official retirement date.

Unused Funds Reversion
