Dear College of Nursing new faculty and staff members,
On behalf of each of us in the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing, I want to extend a warm welcome to you as you begin your work as a member of the College of Nursing community. This university and college both have expansive and vitally important missions to lead the way in providing health professions education, dramatically “moving the needle” in scientific advancements related to health and health care, providing world-class clinical care and population health services, and serious and sustained leadership at local, state, and national levels whether in professional or community organizations. You will find a community of dedicated scientists intent on improving nursing care through research and igniting a passion for inquiry in students. You also will find that the College of Nursing is home to expert educators and clinicians who integrate research and evidence into the learning and care delivery experience. Our faculty, staff, students, and alumni are committed to being the best they can be every day and to continuing their own learning and development. This is a place of excitement, enthusiasm, and energy and a place where we value leadership and positive communication of diverse ideas. Please do not hesitate to let any of us know if you have questions as you begin your career journey at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. We are a team and are all working together at this special point in history to move the college forward to the next level of academic excellence, scientific rigor, and service to patients, the public, and our professions. Welcome and very best wishes for every success!
