Purpose

Establishes compliance and immunization requirements.

Scope

This policy applies to professional graduate students.

Policy

Upon admission to the professional graduate program and on December 1 of each year, the professional graduate student must provide evidence according to the UNMC Student Handbook of:

  1. Health Information Privacy and Protection Act (HIPAA) training.
  2. Blood-borne pathogens training.
  3. Current Registered Nurse license.
  4. Current Hepatitis B immunization and/or a reactive Hepatitis B titer.
  5. Annual completion of a test for tuberculosis.
  6. Annual flu immunization.
  7. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for Health Care Providers certificate that will remain current through each semester the student is enrolled.
  8. Background check.
  9. Drug screening when required by clinical agency.
