General Position Description
The simulation faculty educator has expertise in simulation-based education (SBE) and is responsible for collaborating with faculty and staff to design, facilitate, evaluate, and revise SBE at their designated division ensuring evidence-based practice, standards, and guidelines are integrated throughout to achieve student learning outcomes. Each division will be assigned a simulation faculty educator. The workload allocation for this position is determined by the assistant dean at each division in consultation with the simulation center director based upon the college’s workload appendix.
Organizational Relationships
The Simulation Faculty Educator reports directly to their College of Nursing (CON) division assistant dean and indirectly reports to the Director of Simulation . This individual has overall responsibility for simulation education at their division. The Simulation Faculty Educator collaborates with their division assistant dean, graduate and undergraduate faculty, staff, and cross-campus Simulation Nurse Educator colleagues to effectively utilize SBE’s to accomplish the college’s educational mission and to meet strategic goals. Works closely with the simulation operations specialist and the simulation technician on respective campus for successful implementation of SBE. The individual in this role is a leader, educator, and mentor that collaborates with clinical partners in the area, in addition to internal and external constituents on simulation pedagogy to address quality and safe patient care initiatives.
