Summer Salary Awards

Salary support may be available for Summer Salary Awards for Education or Practice Innovation Scholarship for faculty with nine-month contracts, pending availability of funding. The priorities listed below for funding for Summer Salary Awards were developed by the Summer Salary Award Committee, endorsed by Faculty Coordinating Council, and approved by Executive Council. All proposals must be approved with signature of the applicant’s Division Assistant Dean (based on clarity and achievability of the proposal and on successful completion of any previously summer funded Project).

Priority will be based on the relevance of the proposal to the needs and strategic goals of the CON, and the clarity and achievability of proposed project outcomes. Up to two (2) awards may be disbursed annually.

Summer salary funding will be considered for Projects requiring a minimum of 1 week up to a maximum of 6 weeks. To apply for this funding, submit a Summer Salary Award application for each Project.

Proposals must provide a clear description of the role for each participant in the project (involvement, responsibility, and accountability).

  1. If all divisions have been invited to participate in a cross-campus project and representatives from each division are not available for summer work, funding can be awarded to those available to work on the Project.
  2. Project should result in dissemination of the work.

Priorities

  1. Redesign course(s) (undergraduate or graduate) to include novel, learner-centered strategies.
  2. Develop classroom or clinical innovations that build on education or practice scholarship for the new AACN Essentials.
  3. Prepare a grant (funding) application focused on program improvement or enhancement strategies for educational or practice initiatives.
  4. Develop strategies to enrich learning related to justice, diversity, equity, or inclusivity and social determinants of health.
  5. Develop and implement a practice improvement strategy.
