Library: Materials Challenge

McGoogan Health Sciences Library’s collection primarily supports the teaching, learning, and research of current UNMC faculty, staff, and students; and secondarily supports UNMC-affiliated health practitioners and clinical partners. Any material challenges must come from one of these groups.

McGoogan Library will not consider book challenge requests from the public. In addition, any challenge must clearly address how the materials fall outside the scope of the library’s collection development policy.

Challenged material may or may not be removed from the collection at the discretion of library administrators.

This policy is guided by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents Policies RP-6.4.10 Commitment to Free Expression; Guide for Facilities Use; and Education.
