<p style="margin-bottom:15px;max-width:70em !important;">This policy applies to professional graduate students.</p>

==Policy==
<p style="margin-bottom:15px;max-width:70em !important;">Professional graduate nursing students, those admitted to the master's (MSN), post-graduate certificate (PGC), or doctoral (DNP) programs in nursing, are classified for admission and progression as follows:</p>

<li style="margin-bottom:15px;">'''Full Admission Status'''<br /><br />Full Admission Status is given to students who have met the admission requirements and have been accepted by the professional graduate nursing program for work leading to a MSN, PGC or DNP degree in nursing.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom:15px;">'''Provisional Admission Status'''<br /><br />Provisional admission status may be given when students show potential for professional graduate work, but have attained below a 3.0 GPA in undergraduate or graduate studies and/or have not yet passed the NCLEX-RN exam. In cases of low GPA, two semesters of coursework must be completed with a final grade of “B” or higher. If the student receives a final grade of "B-" or less during their provisional status, the Professional Graduate Affairs Committee (PGAC) will recommend transitioning the student to a Probationary Status or removal from the program of study based on a case-by-case review. In cases in which an applicant has not yet passed the NCLEX-RN exam, admission is provisional until the applicant produces evidence of passing the exam. To transition from provisional to full status requires successful completion of deficiencies assigned by the PGAC as a condition of provisionary status.</li>

Transitioning from non-degree to full status requires a completed application for full admission after meeting the criteria outlined in Policy 2303 Admission Policies for Master's Degree or 2304 Admission Policies for Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree Programs and acceptance into a nursing program of study.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom:15px;">'''Probationary Status'''<br /><br />Probationary Status may be given after admission when a student has a GPA below 3.0 and requires successful completion of designated course work to continue in their program of study (Refer to policy 2309 Evaluation of Professional Graduate Student Progression to Graduation).
