General Position Description
The Director of Administration and Operations in the College of Nursing has oversight of the College’s operations and administrative services. These include human resources; academic and staff personnel support; facilities, infrastructure and capital project management; fiscal and business management and other administrative duties as assigned.
Organizational Relationships
The Director of Administration and Operations reports directly to the Dean and works closely with the Dean in the overall administration of the College. S/he collaborates with the College of Nursing Associate and Assistant Deans, Directors, faculty and staff to advance the College’s strategic initiatives. External to the College, the position collaborates with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Budget and Financial Compliance, as well as with peer personnel throughout UNMC, and represents the College in various University-level councils.
Responsibilities of the Position
Has oversight and coordination of daily operations performed by staff. Provides direct organization, supervision, support and evaluation of Dean's staff. Acts as administrative liaison for the College of Nursing staff.
Facilitates and develops short-, long-range, and strategic plans. Facilitates policy development, interpretation, and implementation. Ensures compliance of administrative services and operations with University, State, Federal, and other standards.
Facilitates and develops complex contractual agreements. Pursues appropriate grants and contracts to support CON activities.
Directs, implements, analyzes, executes and provides recommendations regarding the Dean's directives in personnel and financial activities, strategic objectives, operational activities and management options.
