General Position Description
The undergraduate course coordinator is primarily responsible for planning and facilitating implementation of the curriculum relative to the course assigned. The course coordinator communicates with the undergraduate faculty team members, students, administration, and agency personnel as appropriate to facilitate the effective implementation of the course. The course coordinator must communicate with the assistant dean in the case of any conflict. The assistant dean assigns the role of course coordinator on each respective division.
Responsibilities of the Course Coordinator include:
Scheduling Tasks
- Scheduling rooms (class, skills labs, simulations, seminars, exams, meetings)
- IT needs (Zoom and Echo 360)
- Scheduling faculty (skills lab coverage, lectures, clinical groups)
- Scheduling guest speakers (invites, logistics, parking)
- Coordinating and scheduling large-scale clinical activities (IPE, poverty sim, HEROES, QPR, Mental Health First Aid)
- Scheduling all onboarding and access to all clinical sites
- Creating and maintaining schedules for clinical sites/units
- Track student’s absences/rescheduling experiences for absences
- Make a plan for campus closures
Exam Tasks
- Coordinating exam dates across the semester
- Coordinate the development of exam blueprints for faculty and students
- Creation of the course exam
- Coordinate student accommodations
- Provide exam information to each proctor
- Rescheduling of exams
- Coordination of exam review sessions
- Post-exam review with pertinent instructors
